There is a lot of negative reaction concerning the new coupon policy just released from Krogers. They finally posted the coupon policy on the kroger facebook page, at it is as clear as...... um, ok, we are all scratching our heads trying to interpret it. So, I when I was at krogers tonight I had a long talk with a cashier, who at my store was unaware of any changes in the coupon policy. And I am hoping it stays that way.
But she did she shed a little unofficial light on why Krogers has become stricter when it comes to coupons (remember, she was just the cashier, but she sees things first hand). And I am sure we all know why this new policy has come to be, it has a lot to do with the shelf clearers. From what she was saying it isn't the coupons themselves that they have a problem with, it is the fact that they can't keep their shelves stocked for the rest of the customers so people are being forced to shop else ware. They are also having a big problem with people who are copying printable coupons and using them, this is ILLEGAL, you are basically shop lifting if you do this because the store will not get reimbursed for that coupon, which will start a whole lot of things to happen, like raised prices and stricter coupon policies!!!! So if your tempted, just stop and go the other way.
The part that is causing the most confusion is where it says "Only 2 internet coupons per manufacturer per day". I would imagine they will be tracking this somehow with your kroger card? Some are looking at this as only 2 like coupons for the same item, and others are looking at it as 2 of the same brand, like you can only use 2 P&G brand items, and it doesn't matter if they are the same or not. If this is the case, it looks like I can only buy one roll of toilet paper and one roll of papertowels a day (that is if I want to buy just the P&G brand items).
With my family of 10, this is going to make it hard to coupon for my family AND get what we need. I think that the new policy would make it hard for any size household, especially someone who only goes to the store once a week. I know that with this new policy, if my Krogers (the only grocery store in my little town) enforces this policy I will be forced to driver further or shop daily hoping I can buy enough. And the second option just sounds exhausting.
